BUSINESS UNIT / DEPARTMENT: HR Legal Counsel
The Legal Counsel employment law team is part of the Human Resources department of Action’s International Headquarters and is based in Zwaagdijk. They have an international and cross functional responsibility and support the HR team with their expertise, have a pragmatic and hands-on approach.
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
This team is specialized in (international) employment law, negotiations with workers councils, is keeping up with legal developments in the countries where Action is present, ensuring new countries are being set up in a correct way (from a labour law perspective). Anticipating on legal developments and anticipate on regulatory changes, focus on employment law and mitigation of risks, provide advice how to implement changes in time in order to comply with local and/international laws. Identify (pro actively) legal risks. Collaborate as business partners closely with HR director, Compensation & Benefits department, workers councils and other stakeholders on employment law matters.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Outline the core responsibilities of the position: Provide advice to our HR teams and other internal stakeholders on employment law matters in the broadest sense, including employee relation matters, employment conditions, restructurings, discipline, terminations for our Dutch entities as well as our international entities; In this role you: · Review and create employment related agreements, templates and guidelines, including employment contracts and settlement agreements; · Provide specialist legal advice to HR Business Partners / Advisors and other stakeholders on employment law and individual cases; Resolving complex or contentious queries or issues and enabling others to take appropriate actions · Educate HR to mitigate risk on key HR responsibilities, including employee relations, employee investigations, compliance with employment laws and regulations; · Prepare, develop and conduct training programs on employment law matters; for example, employment law updates, discipline, performance, and documentation preparation; · Monitor case law, legislation, and policy in your areas of responsibility · Actively contribute by sharing best practices and know-how with (inter)national teams.
